About The Hearty Shop

The Hearty Shop is an eBay store specializing in skincare and beauty creams for women. It has been in business since 2012, selling exclusively to the domestic US market.

The Hearty Shop has its own brand of moisturizing, nourishing and anti-aging creams, scrubs and masks for women; a unique set of products using natural ingredients as Jojoba oil, Acai and coffee beans. It faces stiff competition from powerhouse skincare brands, but still thrives in the mid-market thanks to its affordable prices, excellent reviews and it concentration on natural ingredients.

The Challenge

For a company that deals exclusively with the domestic US market, ‘going global’ can seem like a daunting task. The Hearty Shop’s logistics team was well-versed with domestic shipping, but when they started looking into international shipping they felt overwhelmed by the multitude of options. eBay GSP seemed simple enough but still left them worried about the high shipping costs and the added customs fee; they were worried that their products would at once become expensive, which goes against their business model of selling high volumes in low cost.

On top of that, The Hearty Shop reports that in overseas sales, the average cost of each order is higher than with domestic sales.
